It’s been another difficult year for Joel Embiid, who can’t seem to stay healthy.
He is hurt again, and it was recently announced that he won’t play in Sunday’s game because of swelling in his knee.
On SiriusXM NBA Radio, Sam Mitchell spoke about Embiid and his injuries and the fact that he doesn’t need a coach; he needs a manager.
He might be the Philadelphia 76ers’ best player, but he isn’t reliable, and he can’t stay healthy, and that is hurting the team.
Instead of plotting plays and how to win, head coach Nick Nurse is focused on how to keep Embiid healthy and on the court and aligned with the rest of the team.

Recently, there were reports of disharmony within the 76ers’ locker room.
Apparently, some people were upset with Embiid’s tardiness and his inability to stay committed to the team and their plans.
This is a very bad sign, and it shows the problems with the team run deeper than simply Embiid’s injuries.
If he is healthy and committed, Embiid can obviously play like an MVP.
The problem is that he can’t keep his knee in good shape, and, reportedly, his heart and mind aren’t in the game as needed.
The 76ers are in a very deep hole, and it’ll take a lot of work to climb out of it.
That simply isn’t possible unless Embiid gets better and becomes more dedicated to his team as soon as possible.
