Analyst Notes How 6 NBA Teams Will Control First Round Of 2025 Draft

The 2025 NBA draft is still months away and we don’t know which teams will be the luckiest.

But we do know that a few have a very good chance of experiencing a great night.

According to Bobby Marks, there are six teams that control 16 out of the 30 first-round picks for the 2025 draft.

Those teams are the Brooklyn Nets, Oklahoma City Thunder, San Antonio Spurs, Utah Jazz, Orlando Magic, and Atlanta Hawks.

Some of these teams are already doing quite well, but they could be looking even better next season because of their years of hard work and draft capital accumulation.

The Oklahoma City Thunder, for example, are the best team in the Western Conference and could go all the way to the Finals this year.

Still, they have multiple draft picks in the first round and are tied to others.

This isn’t a coincidence, and it’s because of the hard work of their front office.

OKC’s leaders have been quietly assembling a slew of picks as they have been rebuilding their team.

Now they are sitting on a ton of win-now talent on the roster as well as multiple draft picks.

The Nets, Spurs, Jazz, Magic, and Hawks could all greatly benefit from the draft, but they also might ship away some of their picks in the next few weeks so they can get players before the trade deadline.

These draft picks don’t have to be used in June and instead can be utilized now to help their chances in 2024-25.

All of these teams should be closely watched before the deadline because they could all be doing serious business.

Or they may all wait until the draft to see who they can acquire.
