Both teams are separated by one point as Manchester City occupy 24th place, which is the final spot to advance to the next phase of the competition. As a result, the two sides need the three points and a loss would end their Champions League season.

Pep Guardiola hints that Man City-PSG is a must-win contest

On Tuesday, Guardiola spoke to the media and stated that both teams will be gearing up to secure three points from this matchup as the two clubs look to secure their spot in the next phase of the tournament.

“Both teams still have two matches to play,” Guardiola said (h/t Canal Supporters). “This is a very important match for us and PSG. We don’t know how many points we’ll need. We’ll see if it works out mathematically. Feyenoord has been a challenge throughout the season. We didn’t want to be in such a situation at this stage of the season. But that’s sports. You have to accept it and keep moving forward.

“When you play against Inter, Juve, PSG… these are very strong teams. Some teams have won nearly all their matches. We’re doing what we can in these group stages. A lot can happen. It’s a very, very important match. After that, we’ll have a home game. Will we need six points or three points to advance? We don’t know.”
