Jacksonville quarterback Lawrence looks set to miss the rest of the NFL season after suffering a concussion in a controversial collision with Texans star Al-Shaair.
The linebacker flew elbow-first into Lawrence as the quarterback slid to the turf during the Texans’ 23-20 win on Sunday.
Al-Shaair was ejected from the game, which left Jaguars players and coaches seething and sparked a bench-clearing brawl. He had to be held back by his Texans teammates, while Lawrence laid motionless on the turf.
Amid the chaos, Jones was also ejected for punching a Texans player. ‘I threw a little something in there,’ the cornerback later admitted.
After the game, the rookie was condemned by his head coach Doug Pederson, who said: ‘He can’t do what he did either, that’s unacceptable.’
