As per a club statement, Amorim was said to be officially joining United on November 11.  However, talkSPORT understands he won’t be allowed to take charge on Monday now as he is still waiting for a work permit to be granted. The club remain confident the issue will be resolved in the coming days and the international fixtures mean it won’t be any headache. Amorim himself had not even planned to take his first Carrington training session until the second week of the November break. Ruud van Nistelrooy has been in interim charge for the club’s last four matches since Ten Hag’s exit. The last of those matches saw the Red Devils beat Leicester 3-0 at Old Trafford on Sunday. The Portuguese boss enjoyed the perfect home send-off at Sporting against Manchester City.  After it was announced that his arrival at United wouldn’t be until mid-November, he commented on the matter.  And he actually revealed that he wanted to remain as Sporting manager until the end of the season, but that United made a ‘now or never’ offer. Amorim said: “United came along, paid the clause, above the clause, and the chairman defended his interests. I never discussed anything with the chairman.  “The only request I made was that it would be at the end of the season and they told me that wasn’t possible, that it was now or never. “I had three days to decide on something that would completely change my life.  “It’s not the first time that I’ve had my clause paid by another club. Nor the second. I wanted that club and that context.  “It’s just like Sporting. It’s very hard for me to leave. More for me than for any other Sporting fan.”
