On loan from Paris Saint-Germain, Carlos Soler seems to have rediscovered his form at West Ham United, presenting the club with a tough decision.
Soler likely realized he needed a fresh start this summer to secure regular playing time. Watching Spain win the UEFA Euro 2024 title may have further motivated him to get back on La Roja’s radar.
Several clubs expressed interest in Soler during the summer transfer window, but it was West Ham who secured his loan move on the final day.
In October, Claret and Hugh reported that the deal is strictly a loan, with no obligation for West Ham to buy. A senior official at London Stadium confirmed, “Soler is just here on loan with absolutely no obligation for us to buy.”
Given his high wages and the significant fee PSG would demand, any deal exceeding £1 million would require board approval, making a permanent transfer unlikely.
Are West Ham reconsidering their decision on Carlos Soler?
Standard Sport reports that Soler is having a real impact at West Ham, and the English club is starting to consider turning his loan into a permanent transfer.
West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui appears to have placed Soler ahead of Paqueta in the pecking order, as the Brazilian’s future remains uncertain.
