Aleksandar Pavlović trained on Monday ahead of Bayern Munich’s game against Paris Saint-Germain but the Germany international won’t be available for tomorrow’s clash against Paris Saint-Germain after suffering a broken collarbone against VfB Stuttgart on October 19.
Vincent Kompany confirmed that although Pavlović has resumed training, the 20-year-old isn’t ‘fully integrated’ and won’t return ‘this week’.
Speaking in Monday’s press conference, Kompany was asked when Pavlović will return.
“I can’t say yet,” said Bayern’s head coach. “We didn’t expect him back before January at all, but now it’s been quick so far. The medical department and Pavlo have worked well but it’s important not to put too much pressure on him. He should come back 100 percent fit. He won’t be back this week.”
A return before Christmas a possibility for Aleksandar Pavlović
Pavlović underwent surgery on his broken collarbone and wasn’t expected to play again in 2024, but a return before Christmas could well be a possibility.
It’s a minor boost for Kompany following the injury to João Palhinha, who is sidelined for around three weeks, leaving Kompany with Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka and Konrad Laimer for the central-positions. Against Augsburg, Kimmich partnered the returning Goretzka in midfield with Raphael Guerreiro operating at right-back.
