Three Bundesliga stars expected to leave in January amid interest from Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool

The 2024 January transfer window is underway as all the top European clubs look to add new players to help them achieve their goals. Transfer rumours suggest some of the biggest clubs in England are reportedly plotting raids on the Bundesliga’s best talents.

Teams tend to be reluctant to lose their key players in January, but a massive offer could change their minds. Below we look at some of the Bundesliga stars who could leave this month.

1- Serhou Guirassy

Serhou Guirassy has been creating headlines in the Bundesliga this season, with the 27-year-old netting 17 goals in 14 appearances. Only Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane is ahead of him in the scoring charts at the moment.

Manchester United have been massively struggling to score goals this campaign, with Marcus Rashford, Rasmus Hojlund and Anthony Martial all enduring woeful starts in the English top-flight. The Red Devils are in the market for a new striker and they consider Guirassy to be a perfect fit. However, the Guinea international is contracted to Stuttgart until 2026 and will likely cost United a huge transfer fee to sign in January.

2- Jeremie Frimpong

Jeremie Frimpong’s stocks have seen a tremendous boost in the last few years. Since arriving at Bayer Leverkusen in 2021, the 23-year-old has featured in 118 games in all competitions and scored 18 goals.

His performances have sparked an interest from Premier League giants Arsenal, whose main priority is a striker but also look in need of a full-back. Cendric Soares is their only alternative to Ben White on the right, with Jurrien Timber sidelined with injury and Takehiro Tomiyasu on international duty.

3- Manu Kone

Injury issues have restricted Manu Kone to just eight Bundesliga appearances this campaign, but the Frenchman was instrumental in helping Borussia Monchengladbach to a 10th-place finish last term.

His performances in the German top-flight attracted attention from Liverpool in the summer, but the Reds ended up signing Ryan Gravenberch from Bayern Munich. However, manager Jurgen Klopp is said to be keen on adding another midfielder this month, and so they could reignite their interest in the 22-year-old.
