The last few seasons have been filled with bad luck and bad choices for the Phoenix Suns, and now it is starting to show.

After high hopes in the summer, the team is the 11th seed in the Western Conference and holds a 26-28 record at the All-Star break.

Evan Sidery pointed out that DraftKings Sportsbook now projects that the Suns will miss the playoffs entirely.

They have +370 odds to make the playoffs and +115 odds to reach the play-in tournament.

“If this occurs, would truly be an embarrassing outcome as they would defer a lottery pick to the Rockets,” Sidery wrote.

Things have not been going well in Phoenix, and the fans are understandably very nervous.

When Kevin Durant came to the team in 2023, people thought a bright new era for Suns basketball was beginning.

Instead, it’s been full of false starts and expensive moves.

The team’s big three of Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal have suffered many injuries and haven’t produced the winning record that fans wanted.

Meanwhile, other players on the team haven’t helped as much as expected.

This year, people thought the front office would make a big splash at the trade deadline, but that failed to happen, partly because of Beal’s no-trade clause in his contract.

However, there were numerous stories of the team contemplating a trade that would have sent Durant away.

So, now the Suns have a tough record but also a lot of questions about their upcoming summer.

Most analysts agree that Durant will probably leave the team in the offseason, which could hurt them even more.

If they don’t reach the playoffs this year, it’ll be just the latest humiliating twist in the team’s painful saga.
