Suns Are Reportedly Struggling To Trade 1 Veteran

This season and last, plenty of people expected the star-studded Phoenix Suns to be a championship contender, but the team hasn’t panned out at all.

There have been plenty of trade rumors lately involving the Suns, and one man they have been looking to trade is center Jusuf Nurkić.

But as Evan Sidery pointed out, they have had trouble getting a team to take on Nurkic’s contract, which will pay him a total of $18.1 million this season.

The Suns have been unable to find a single team willing to take on Jusuf Nurkic’s contract in a trade, per @Gambo987.

The Suns originally traded for Nurkic in 2023, the same calendar year in which they acquired Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal.

Nurkic hasn’t lived up to expectations — his scoring with Phoenix has been lower than it was with the Portland Trail Blazers, his previous team, and he hasn’t been enough of a defensive presence.

It has been one of a number of problems that have kept the Suns in mediocrity despite possessing arguably the most talented star trio in the NBA today.

Their three stars have had trouble staying healthy, and they have been a very lackluster team on the defensive end, where they rank 22nd in defensive rating.

With all the draft picks the Suns gave up to get Durant and Beal, there is a tremendous amount of pressure on them to win it all, and unless something drastically changes soon, they won’t even come close to doing so.
