Several Premier League clubs are interested in potentially signing Borussia Dortmund’s Donyell Malen this winter, according to Sky Germany

The winger has been given the green light to leave BVB this winter as playing time has been minimal and he isn’t in Nuri Şahin’s plans. Additionally, with the likes of Jamie Gittens in sensational form this season, Malen is unlikely to break into the starting lineup.

Premier League Calling?

The 25-year-old winger has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League with several clubs having been monitoring Malen’s situation since the summer.

Some of the clubs interested in the Dutchman include Everton, Nottingham Forest, Brentford, and Crystal Palace.

However, there is one issue with a move to these clubs, according to Malen.

The player has high expectations and wants to move to a club that has European football such as Arsenal or even Barcelona in Spain.

Malen has talent, there is no doubting that. However, he may not have done enough when playing for BVB to encourage other clubs competing in Europe to take a chance on him.

What’s more, Dortmund are asking for €25m-€30m for the winger. That’s a big fee for someone who hasn’t shown great form over the past 12 months.

It’s not been ruled out that a loan move could be arranged. However, one thing is for sure; Malen’s day at BVB appears numbered.
