Serie A | Torino v Monza: Probable starting lineups

As Torino and Monza gear up for their upcoming Serie A encounter, both teams are navigating through a series of injury-related challenges and player returns.

Torino receive a boost with the anticipated return of midfield star Samuele Ricci, who had previously withdrawn from Italy’s UEFA Nations League squad due to injury. Scottish striker Che Adams is also expected to be fit for the starting lineup, offering a much-needed offensive option for the Turin side.

Adams, who started his Torino career impressively, has faced difficulties in recent matches, particularly in the absence of his strike partner Duvan Zapata. Antonio Sanabria, fresh off scoring a spectacular goal for Paraguay, aims to rediscover his form against Monza, a team he has historically performed well against.

However, Torino will still be without defender Perr Schuurs, who continues his long-term recovery from an ACL injury. Ivan Ilic’s participation remains uncertain due to a hamstring issue.

Monza, on the other hand, faces significant midfield absences. Matteo Pessina, a key player and the team’s primary penalty taker, is expected to be sidelined for up to two months with a thigh injury. Despite these setbacks, Monza’s attack looks promising with Dany Mota, the club’s top scorer, likely to partner with Milan Djuric up front. Mota, who scored Monza’s first-ever Serie A goal against Torino in August 2022, will be crucial to their offensive efforts.
