Sacking Christian Ilzer cannot be ruled out if Hoffenheim lose to Holstein Kiel at the weekend

Sky Germany reports that Hoffenheim cannot rule out sacking head coach Christian Ilzer if they lose to Holstein Kiel at the weekend.

There is already significant internal unrest at Hoffenheim following their 5-0 loss to Bayern Munich on Wednesday, where afterwards record goalscorer Andrej Kramaric gave a firey response to the current situation at the club.  

Hoffenheim now find themselves in 16th place and relegation is a real threat. At the weekend, they face fellow relegation-threatened Kiel and if they lose that, they will drop into the automatic relegation places. 

Since replacing Pellegrino Matarazzo earlier this season, Ilzer has only won one game in the Bundesliga during his time brief spell in Sinsheim. This game was his first in charge, a 4-3 win against RB Leipzig, since then there has been no significant improvement on the pitch, despite the continued investment. In the past two transfer windows, Hoffenheim have spent a total of €66m.
