Robert De Niro was spotted in an unlikely place!
On Sunday, Nov. 3, the actor, 81, crashed the tailgate ahead of the Eagles-Jaguars game at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia to lobby for Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris.
NFL shared two photos of De Niro's surprise appearance at the stadium on X (formerly Twitter), writing, "Robert De Niro showed up at an @Eagles tailgate."
In the snaps, De Niro can be seen standing among football fans decked out in green and black attire to show their support for their team. Meanwhile, the actor is wearing a black coat over a gray shirt and holding a stack of white papers.
The photos were captured by sports fan Mark Kremer, who shared them with the caption, "Did Robert De Niro join your tailgate? No? That’s why the tailgates hosted by @philatticus and @ianfromphilly are the best."
The Eagles and Sunday Night Football on NBC also reposted the images on X. The NFL team shared one of the two photos with the caption, "Eagles tailgates remain elite," while the sports program made a reference to De Niro’s Eagles-loving character in the 2012 romantic comedy Silver Linings Playbook.
"Eagles tailgate silver lining: seeing Robert De Niro," the NBC show quipped in the caption of its post, which included a photo of De Niro at the tailgate along with a snapshot of the actor in Eagles attire in the movie.
Another spectator shared a clip which shows De Niro interacting with the crowd as “Everytime We Touch” by Cascada played in the background. The two-time Oscar winner can be seen nodding and chatting animatedly with a person standing behind a table of barbecue food.

Michael Embrich, former member of the Secretary of Veterans Affairs' Advisory Committee on the Readjustment of Veterans, posted that he was campaigning with De Niro at the time. "Honored to join Robert De Niro, Secretary Kerry and Rep. Chrissy Houlahan at the Eagles tailgate! Let’s get out the vote for Kamala Harris! #GoBirds #Vote," he wrote on X.
Along with his impassioned post, Embrich shared a photo of De Niro speaking into a microphone at the tailgate while surrounded by a group of people.
This is not the first time De Niro has showed his support for Harris, 60. In September, he participated in a livestream with fellow actor Steve Buscemi to voice their support and help raise funds.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, De Niro said he was "optimistic" that Harris and running mate Tim Walz will win the election, but encouraged people to not get complacent.
"I’m very excited, but to me, it ain’t over till it’s over. So we can’t for one second think that we’re ahead of this thing," De Niro said.
"We just have to be on it all the time until the very end because they’re going to try everything when the election day comes," he continued. "When will these things be final? What will they question? What will they play games about? We know it’s coming, we see it coming. We have to just be ever vigilant, and it’s not over till it’s over."
