Paris Saint-Germain will take on Premier League leaders Liverpool in the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League. PSG cruised past Stade Brestois with a dominant 10-0 aggregate win in the knockout play-off round, but they now face a much tougher test.
After Friday’s draw, Marquinhos, who played against Liverpool in the 2018 group stage, shared his thoughts on the matchup in an interview with PSG TV.
Liverpool manager Arne Slot recently spoke to the club’s official website, saying he’s excited about facing the Ligue 1 side.

PSG manager Luis Enrique also shared his reaction to the matchup. Moreover, the Spanish boss appears to be up for the task of taking down the odds-on favorite to win the Champions League this season.
“Drawing Liverpool in the Round of 16? I’m delighted,” Enrique said. “Liverpool and us, both teams are two very high-level teams, it’ll be a very attractive tie. It is exciting and appealing.”
“I think we’re going to face one of the best Liverpool teams of recent seasons. If we look at the stats and profiles in attack and defense, we are two similar teams. But we are different from them in our buildup play. I would say it’s a 50-50 tie for both clubs.”

The first leg will be on March 4 at the Parc des Princes and the return leg will be on March 11 at Anfield. PSG will need to take advantage of the home ground and the young squad must be prepared to handle the pressure on the road if they want to advance.
