PSG Receive Positive Injury Update on Key Midfielder Before Liverpool Clash

Paris Saint-Germain defeated Olympique Lyonnais 3-2 Sunday night at Groupama Stadium. However, the capital club did see a key player go down with an injury late in the contest. 

In the 53rd minute, Bradley Barcola whipped in a cross, but none of his PSG teammates reacted. That left Achraf Hakimi free to make a run to the far post, where he smashed a powerful shot past Lucas Perri.

Six minutes later, Ousmane Dembélé drove into the box, opened his foot, and curled a shot past Perri, leaving the goalkeeper no chance. Gonçalo Ramos then set up Lee Kang-in with a brilliant backheel, and Lee unselfishly laid it off to Hakimi, who calmly slotted it home with a precise side-foot finish.

PSG left with all three points, but there was some concern late in the match as Fabián Ruiz picked up an injury. However, the initial alarm may have been an overreaction.

Le Parisien’s Marc Mechenoua reports that Ruiz is doing well. Although he left the Groupama Stadium limping, it was just a minor knock to the calf, and no concerns are moving forward.
