Premier League fixtures this week plus kick-off times and how to follow as Arsenal vs Tottenham headlines midweek action
The Premier League is back and we are going to be treated to a jam-packed schedule of midweek fixtures. There were no top-flight games over the weekend as FA Cup ties took over, with those clashes being played from last Thursday onwards. Liverpool face Forest in one of the highlight fixtures in midweekGetty But following the cup action, it’s Premier League time again and matches are set to begin on Tuesday night. First up, Manchester City are eyeing a third-straight win when as they face Brentford after finally bringing their dismal run to an end. Pep Guardiola’s side have beaten Leicester and West Ham in their last two league games while also thumping Salford City 8-0 on Saturday. It leaves them hunting down the top four again, hoping to better the result of Chelsea who are playing Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge at the same time. The Blues are in action at 7:30pm on Tuesday while West Ham face Fulham in a London derby to complete the trio of matches in that time slot. High-flying Nottingham Forest then take on Premier League leaders Liverpool at 8pm in a huge fixture at the top of the table. A win for Forest at the City Ground would move them to within three points of top spot, and so far this season, they’re the only team to have beaten Arne Slot’s side. On Wednesday night, three teams battling at the bottom are in action as Leicester host Crystal Palace, Everton face Aston Villa and Wolves travel to Newcastle. Those fixtures could really shake up the relegation battle while Villa and the Magpies need wins to keep up in the race for European football. The late kick-off is the North London derby as Arsenal take on Tottenham at the Emirates, with the Gunners struggling for form.
