Once again, Zion Williamson of the New Orleans Pelicans is hurt, and, once again, there are questions about his future.
Williamson has barely played this season and his team is in terrible condition.
This might force the Pelicans to make a move that seemed impossible just a couple of seasons ago.
According to Jovan Buha, per NBACentral, the Pelicans are “shopping” Williamson on the trade market.
Buha wrote:
“Based on the reporting intel, Trey Murphy and Herb Jones are at a certain level for them. They want to keep them. Those are two guys that are going to have a high price to give up, similar to L.A. with Austin Reaves. Seems like Zion, and Brandon Ingram, and CJ McCollum are the three guys they’ve been shopping more in terms of their core starters, and Dejounte Murray has not.”

The Pelicans have only had Williamson for six games this season, when he averaged 22.7 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 5.3 assists.
He’s still a talented star, but, sadly, can’t seem to stay healthy.
There was a time when New Orleans would try to survive the rest of the season without Williamson, and they have done that before.
But he’s just one of many Pelicans stars who has been hurt this year.
Their injury list felt longer than a phone book for weeks, and it ruined the team’s chances of going far this year.
They are the worst team in the West with a 5-25 record.
The Pelicans are now looking at their options for Williamson, and they are hoping another team picks up his contract.
He was once seen as the future of the franchise, but he could never live up to his potential because of physical problems.
Williamson might really be leaving New Orleans and now everyone is wondering what they can get in return for him.
