Paulo Dybala’s potential move to Galatasaray: Agent in Turkiye

Roma and Galatasaray are once again at the center of transfer talks, this time involving Paulo Dybala. The two clubs have a history of player exchanges, including Nicolò Zaniolo’s move to Turkey and Angelino’s arrival in Italy via Leipzig. Now, a potentially more significant deal is brewing with Dybala as the protagonist.

Calciomercato report how yesterday, Carlos Novel, a member of Dybala’s entourage, was in Turkey to meet with Galatasaray’s board of directors. According to Sports Digitale, he also attended the match against Trabzonspor live. The objective is to bring La Joya to Turkey as early as January, simultaneously resolving the ongoing contractual issue with Roma.

Dybala’s contract with Roma includes a unilateral renewal clause that activates when he reaches 50% of total appearances over the three-year contract period, which concludes this year. Currently, he needs eight more appearances of at least 45 minutes to trigger this clause. Dybala’s salary this season amounts to 16 million euros gross, and with the renewal, the cost to the club would double to over 30 million euros.

Reports from Turkey suggest that Dybala is open to the move, and Galatasaray is eager to find a suitable replacement for the injured Mauro Icardi, who is out for the season with a cruciate ligament injury. Negotiations between the clubs are necessary, and George Gardi, the intermediary who facilitated the transfers of Icardi, Zaniolo, and Osimhen to Turkey, is already working on the deal.

Dybala has a release clause of 12 million euros, but with only six months remaining on his contract, the Turkish club hopes to secure a significant discount. This move would also resolve Roma’s issue with the automatic renewal. While there is still time and room for negotiation, Serie A might soon lose one of its superstar talents.
