HGTV surprised viewers with the decision to cancel and postpone several hit shows — but what is the status of Christina Haack, Tarek and Heather Rae El Moussa’s projects at the network?
A source exclusively tells Us Weekly that Tarek, 43, and Heather’s show Flipping El Moussas is “not coming back” to HGTV. The same goes for Christina’s series Christina on the Coast, which has also “not been renewed.”
According to the source, the trio’s The Flip Off is meant to be “back for a second season, but there is no filming date or air date yet.” This comes as a surprise after The Flip Off, which premiered in January, delivered HGTV’s highest-rated freshman series among adults since 2022.
Tarek, Heather, 37, and Christina, 42, spoke to Us at the time about signing on to film the show after individually working together over the years. (Christina got her start on Flip or Flop with then-husband Tarek, whom she was married to from 2009 to 2018.)
Why Did HGTV Just Cancel 5 TV Shows? Explaining the Cuts — And the Backlash
“I’ve never shot with Heather, so I was like, ‘What’s that going to be like? Tarek and I have a playful banter; is she going to be jealous?’” Christina shared in a January cover story before Heather added, “It was like, ‘Are we going to get along? Are we going to work well together?’”
Tarek, who has been married to Heather since 2021, joked that his “main fear” was his current wife and ex teaming up “against” him on the home improvement show. Despite previous reservations, Tarek, Heather and Christina expressed excitement at the prospect of working together again on season 2 of The Flip Off.

However, the future of HGTV’s programming slate has been called into question after five shows were recently taken off the air. HGTV hasn’t publicly addressed the shakeup, but hosts have spoken out about the surprising cancellations. Property Brothers stars Drew and Jonathan Scott are facing some delays with their shows, while Bobby Berk from Netflix’s Queer Eye scored a win with a new series being picked up.
Rehab Addict’s Nicole Curtis, meanwhile, spoke out in June after her show suddenly became unavailable to view.
Which HGTV Shows Are Safe — And Which Are Canceled — Amid Scheduling Changes
“I made the executive decision to shelf the rest of our new shows until fall. I appreciate your support and understanding for the late notice,” Curtis wrote via Instagram at the time. “It’s just a lot of hours (my hours) to get a show on air and we (my family + me) thought – why are we giving up summer when we have the ability to do this in the fall?”
Rehab Addict‘s latest season premiered that month before being replaced by My Lottery Dream Home after only two episodes.
“Thank you to the powers that be at HGTV that were receptive to our idea. … Without a doubt, I, truly, am beyond happy with this decision as I just spent the day with a phone that was dead and had no worries about it,” Curtis continued. “They are airing Lottery Dream Home in my place.”
She concluded: “Fun fact, [Lottery Dream Home host] David Bromstad was my pregnancy beach buddy as we were filming and living next to each other in Gulf Shores, Alabama, for Beach Flip. … So, don’t be spreading rumors that he replaced me — I chose it.”
