The Houston Rockets have signed forward Cameron Matthews to an exhibit 10 deal. Matthews will have the opportunity to compete for a Two-Way spot in training camp with the Rockets.
Matthews (6-7, 235) was eligible for the 2025 NBA Draft following his graduate senior season at Mississippi State. He appeared in a school record 167 games and left as the Bulldogs all-time leader in steals. Matthews was named to the All-SEC Defensive Team by conference coaches in each of his final two seasons.
In 2024-25, Matthews averaged 7.1 points, 6.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.4 steals (tied for ninth in the nation). Dating back to 1990-91, only nine other Division I players reached his totals for points, rebounds, assist and steals in a season, including Penny Hardaway (1991-92) and C.J. McCollum (2011-12).
