Former NBA star Dwyane Wade‘s wife, actress Gabrielle Union, may have shared a little TMI about why she doesn’t allow the family dog to sleep in bed with them.
Wade, 43, was the celebrity guest host alongside Jenna Bush Hager on Today’s Jenna & Friends from July 7 to 11. During the Friday, July 11 episode, Union, 52, joined Hager, 43, and her husband to film The Great Debate portion of the show.
The topic of discussion between the husband and wife: “Should you let your dog sleep in the bed with you?”
Union, 52, argued that their French bulldog named Trey shouldn’t be allowed to sleep with them and explained why.

“Tre loves D in a way that is unhealthy for everyone,” Union began her argument. “He literally cries and screams like a human at the door whenever he leaves.”
In fact, Union argued that Trey gets so distraught when Wade leaves the house that Trey “goes back to our bed, but luckily, only on his side, and he will drop a deuce right on his pillow.”
“So no, he does not need to be in the bed with us,” Union concluded her argument as a shocked Hager replied with a simple “Wow.”

“The dropping of the deuce really has me,” Hager told Wade as he began his argument for why Trey should be allowed to sleep in the bed with him and Union, claiming Trey no longer poops on his pillow.
“I have notes here,” Wade revealed, coming to The Great Debate prepared. “One thing that I’m trying to build with Trey. I was trying to build emotional bonding. Emotional bonding is very important everyone,” Wade explained as video of himself and Trey enjoying time together played on screen.
“I’m trying to be a model presence for Trey. You know, If I’m gonna leave the home, I need him to protect the home. So I have to show him, I’m boosting his confidence,” Wade continued.
“I’m out on the beach with him. I’m running. I’m getting up in the morning, 6 a.m., all the things,” a proud Wade concluded as the buzzer rang.
Much to Union’s surprise, Hager ultimately gave Wade the win in the debate because of the visuals he brought along with his argument.
“Well, the deuce had it, but that B roll, to think ahead like that, I’m gonna have to give it to Dwyane,” Hager admitted. “I’m about winning, and sometimes you need visuals to help people,” Wade added.

However, fans in the comment section disagreed with both Wade and Hager, saying “No Jenna, she wins this. Just no.”
“Seeing this live…I died! (Union) wins hands downs,” another commenter agreed.
“I am an animal lover for sure, but no animals in my bed please! (except my husband),” joked another fan.
In addition to Union joining the show, their 6-year-old daughter, Kaavia, also made an appearance on the show, interviewing her dad.
During the interview, Kaavia asked when Wade, who says being a father is his favorite role, was most proud of her.
Wade said it was in that moment that he was most proud of Kaavia. “I’m most proud of you right now, in this moment.”
“You’re hosting the interview right now for Jenna and Friends’ for the Today show. You’re 6 years old. You’re doing an amazing job,” Wade told his daughter.
