Carson Beck showed he is worth every cent of his multi-million dollar deal in Miami’s season opener.
The 23-year-old quarterback was a two-year starter for the Georgia Bulldogs, with a 24-3 career record, before announcing his transfer to the Hurricanes back in January.

Beck’s move sent shock waves through the college football world, especially given he had actually declared for the 2025 NFL Draft.
Instead of leaving Georgia for the pros, he swapped the SEC for the ACC by way of the transfer portal, and has been rewarded handsomely for the move.
CBS reported in January that, upon committing to Miami, Beck was expected to receive a name, image and likeness (NIL) package that pays him $4 million in 2025.
On3, meanwhile, reported that Beck would make roughly $3.2m to start the season for the Canes, and that the deal could max out around $6m with incentives.
He has partnerships with companies like Chipotle, Morgan & Morgan, Beats by Dre and Powerade, and sits second on On3’s list of top 100 NIL earners, behind only Arch Manning ($6.8m).
In his first game for Miami against Notre Dame, Beck showed he was deserving of that kind of money.
He went 20/30 for 205 yards and two touchdowns on Sunday, and led his team to a 27-24 upset win that was capped by Carter Davis’ 48-yard field goal in the closing minutes.
It was Miami’s first victory against a top-10 team in nearly eight years.
NFL legends react to Beck’s Miami debut
Naturally, Beck’s debut with the Hurricanes was must-watch for many sports fans, including Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson.
The two NFL legends discussed the game on their Nightcap podcast, and noted that Beck showed he was ‘the guy’ that Miami paid $4m for.

“The U look very good. I was really worried about the quarterback position, how was Carson Beck going to look?” Ocho began, referencing the UCL injury Beck suffered in the 2024 SEC Championship Game.
“How is his resurgence away from Georgia?
“How is he going to look in that University of Miami uniform, keeping the University of Miami program where it needs to be when Cam Ward left them.
“They were in good hands, and based on what I saw today, they’re still in good hands.”
Sharpe mirrored those comments, but noted that the schedule will continue to test Beck.
“Miami Hurricanes football looked really good, Carson Beck played really well,” he began.

“Twenty of 30, 205, two touchdowns. Clean game, he didn’t turn it over.
“But there’s still a lot of football to go.”
While plenty of eyes were on Beck as he turned out for Miami, one person who apparently wasn’t watching was his ex-girlfriend, Hanna Cavinder.
Cavinder Twins silent on Beck debut
Cavinder is a former Miami star turned social media influencer, who rose to prominence alongside her twin sister, Haley.
The twins built a following while playing basketball for the Canes, before shifting their focus to become social media influencers.
Hanna and Beck were in a high-profile relationship while the latter was at Georgia, but reportedly broke up in April of this year.
While the Cavinder Twins are usually all about the Canes on game day, they were silent this weekend, posting nothing to do with Miami on Instagram.
Instead, their account shared a reel with a fashion update, captioned: “Happy Sunday.”

Soaking after the upset win against Notre Dame, Beck appeared emotional as he referenced the ‘hard’ time he had around his transfer to Miami.
“Oh man, s***. The past eight months have been so hard, and I’m just so blessed to be out here,” he told ESPN.
“To play again, man, I love these guys. I’m so proud.
“We played so hard. In the face of adversity, we got it done when we needed to. So thankful.”

While the Cavinder Twins stayed silent during Beck’s debut, if he continues to make an impact for Miami, they might have no choice but to tune in as the season progresses.
