Newcastle Demand Premier League Record Fee for PSG Target Amid Arsenal, Liverpool Links

The winter transfer window has closed, and Alexander Isak remains at Newcastle United—for now. There wasn’t much buzz about a move this winter, but expect plenty of clubs to circle back this summer.

RMC Sport’s Daniel Riolo recently suggested that PSG, which has been linked to Isak in a report from Fichajes, should make a serious push to strengthen its attack under Luis Enrique.

“Wouldn’t you go all-in on Alexander Isak if you were PSG?” Riolo said. “PSG could very well go all-in. Can we swap Ramos and Kolo Muani for Isak? Can we make a package like that? You also add Asensio to the package. And come on, I’ll throw in Kang-In Lee too.”

Arsenal have shown interest as well, but according to FootballTransfers, Liverpool are currently the most determined suitor and leading the race for his signature.

Newcastle won’t be giving discounts for Alexander Isak

Isak is one of the most in-demand strikers on the market, and Newcastle have reportedly set a steep asking price. According to The Mirror (h/t AS), any club looking to sign the Swedish forward will have to pay €180 million—a fee that would set a Premier League record.

CaughtOffside reported that Arsenal are preparing a formal offer for Isak this summer and that the Gunners are showing the strongest interest in him, though other top clubs are also keeping tabs.

Newcastle, meanwhile, are working to secure Isak to a new contract, aiming to increase his salary and make it more difficult for other clubs to lure him away, per CaughtOffside.

One potential concern for Newcastle is missing out on Champions League qualification, which could push Isak toward a move. Several Champions League clubs are reportedly ready to offer him a key role.
