Napoli’s Dream Replacement for Kvara: Garnacho in the Spotlight

As Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s departure from Napoli to Paris Saint-Germain nears completion, the Italian club are actively seeking a worthy successor. Their primary target is Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho, a move that would align with new manager Antonio Conte’s vision for the team.

Gazzetta dello Sport report how Kvaratskhelia’s exit from Napoli has been a dramatic turn of events. His last appearance for the club against Venezia, marked by an off-target shot and subsequent substitution, symbolized the end of his tenure. The Georgian winger’s transfer to PSG is set to be finalized for a total of 75 million euros, including bonuses, with the player’s salary jumping from 1.8 million to 11 million euros annually.

Napoli’s sporting director has already initiated talks for Garnacho, meeting with the player’s agents in Barcelona. The Argentine winger is reportedly open to the move, potentially enticed by the prospect of playing in the stadium named after his country’s football icon. However, Manchester United’s asking price of 80 million euros presents a significant hurdle.

Napoli are prepared to offer around 45 million euros, including bonuses, for Garnacho. The club hopes that the player’s representatives can help negotiate a more favourable deal with Manchester United, who need to balance their books due to Financial Fair Play regulations.

Alternative targets for Napoli include Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund, but the German club is reluctant to sell. Timo Werner was considered but is now injured. Dan Ndoye from Bologna remains a possibility, though perhaps not as high-profile as the club desires.
