Muse, 26, was wished a happy birthday on X by the franchise at 8:26am.
But hours later, he was ruthlessly released as the Vikings announced he’d been cut at 4:15pm.
Some fans felt the move occurring on his birthday was harsh – and many also predicted it was done to make roster space for quarterback Daniel Jones.
‘Daniel Jones incoming,’ one wrote on X.

Many Vikings fans believed Muse was released to make space on the roster for Daniel Jones
‘DANNY DIMES,’ a second exclaimed.
‘Oh so we’re signing Daniel Jones got it,’ a third said.
Muse, a seventh-round pick out of South Carolina in 2022, was in his third season with the Vikings and had appeared in 15 games for the franchise.
Jones, who was released by the Giants last week after being benched and demoted to the team’s fourth-string quarterback, has reportedly received plenty of interest as a new free agent.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Vikings and Ravens are two of the likeliest teams to land the ex-Giant.
Both of those teams are set at starter, with Sam Darnold having a career year for Minnesota and MVP candidate Lamar Jackson leading Baltimore, though both could benefit from extra insurance at the position as they gear up for expected postseason berths.
The Vikings are 9-2 after beating the Bears in overtime last weekend, while the Ravens are 7-4 heading into a Monday night clash against the Chargers.
Schefter reported that Jones likely preferred to finish the year on a team contending for the postseason.
Meanwhile, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport has also mentioned the 49ers and Raiders as potential landing spots.
