The Mavericks were able to take down the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday night, one of their biggest and most important wins of the season and the end of their three-game losing streak.

Over the last ten games, they have a 3-7 record.

The idea of trading Gafford is shocking to some fans because he is averaging 11.7 points and 6.0 rebounds per game.

This is his first full season with the Mavericks and he has looked like a crucial part of the team and its frontcourt.

The fact that the Mavericks are willing to trade someone who has done so much for the team shows how committed they are to improving.

They are reportedly on the hunt for a perimeter defender and will part ways with Gafford to get one.

Many things about the team are up in the air right now, but the Mavericks wish to return to the NBA Finals and they don’t feel that’s possible with the roster they currently have.

Without Gafford, the Mavericks could face other problems because they would be without a reliable backup center, which could seriously hurt them, especially in the postseason.
