Manchester United and England star Mason Mount has been given permission to build a golf simulator at his £4million mansion in Cheshire, according to reports.
Mount, who has made plans to build the simulator despite living next door to a luxury golf resort, initially faced having his proposal rejected by council planners, because it threatened five nearby trees protected by a Tree Preservation Order (TPO).
Despite originally planning to transform his garage so that the simulator could be built, the 28-year-old midfielder has submitted a new, revised proposal which has now been given the green light, according to the Sun.
The fresh plans will see Mount’s golf simulator extension, a six-room new build with a gym, study, sauna and changing room, move 6ft away from the protected trees and use specially engineered foundations to avoid damaging their roots.
After no neighbours objected to the revised proposal, council officials agreed to grant Mount planning permission.
‘The proposed extension is considered to appear well related to the existing property.’ a planning officer involved told the newspaper.

‘The proposed development is considered to be a proportionate addition.
‘It is therefore an appropriate form of development in the green belt.’
They added: ‘The view remains that the trees will cause seasonal nuisance issues for the flat roof and that pruning will be required.’
Mount’s lavish mansion, which was built just two years ago, already boasts an indoor swimming pool, five bathrooms and two cinemas — and is situated next door to one of Cheshire’s most reputable golf courses.
He is believed to live near fellow England international Jordan Pickford, as well as Everton defender Michael Keane and Manchester United team-mate Tom Heaton.
Mount has endured a frustrating start to life at Manchester United, having spent plenty of time on the sidelines.
Having suffered a glut of injury problems since moving from Chelsea to Old Trafford for £55m in 2023, the attacking midfielder has failed to establish himself as a regular under Erik ten Hag and his successor Ruben Amorim.
Mount has started just three Premier League games to date this campaign and is yet to register a single goal contribution.

Confirming that he is set for another frustrating spell on the sidelines last week, the 28-year-old star issued a message to fans to give an update on the muscle injury he sustained less than 15 minutes into United’s 2-1 win in the Manchester derby.
‘Words can’t portray how devastated I’m feeling right now, you could probably see the look on my face when it happened. I knew what it meant,’ Mount wrote on Instagram.
‘United fans, you may not know me too well yet, but one thing I can guarantee, I will never give up or lose faith.
‘I’ve said this before, but I will continue to give everything, get through this tough period and won’t stop until that’s achieved.’
