The Victor Osimhen saga saw Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain linked to the Nigerian striker throughout the summer transfer window. With Osimhen now regaining his form from the 2022-23 season, more clubs could show interest in the Napoli loanee in 2025.
Osimhen joined Galatasaray on loan after a permanent move from Napoli fell through. The 25-year-old has been in strong form, scoring eight goals and providing four assists in nine appearances for the Turkish side this season.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Osimhen’s release clause will be around €80 million in January, but it’s expected to decrease to about €70 million next summer.
Manchester United gauging Victor Osimhen’s file
Ruleta Sport reporter Gerardo Fasano is turning his focus to Victor Osimhen as they look to strengthen their attack under new manager Ruben Amorim.
“Manchester United would be on the trail of Victor Osimhen,” Fasano said (h/t TEAMtalk). “They have told me that the English, through coach Amorim, could include the ex-Bologna attacker Zirkzee in the deal for Osimhen.
“Zirkzee could help Lukaku find himself again. Money plus Zirkzee for Osimhen. Amorim has understood that Sporting could ask too much for Gyokeres and he is testing the waters for Osimhen.”
Football Insider reported on Saturday, citing sources, that Newcastle United won’t be pursuing Osimhen. The report mentions that Osimhen currently earns £8.3 million annually from his Napoli contract, which is about £160,000 per week. However, he is likely to demand a higher salary when he moves on.
This could create financial challenges for Newcastle, especially since Anthony Gordon’s recent contract extension has made him their highest-paid player at £140,000 per week. As a result, it would make one less competitor for Osimhen in the summer of 2025.
