Kim Kardashian is getting real about motherhood.
On Saturday, Nov. 9, the mother-of-four, 44, shared a heartfelt message on her Instagram Stories about the "sad part" of being a parent.
"The sad part about motherhood is that you’re raising the one person you can’t live without… to live without you," she wrote over a background of crumbled white paper, accompanied by a teary-eyed emoji.
Kardashian shared another emotional message about parenting back in September, after her eldest daughter, North, revealed that she has dyslexia during a TikTok live stream. The SKNN BY KIM founder reposted a clip of her friend Lauren Sánchez discussing her personal struggles with dyslexia during an appearance on The View.
"I'm reposting this not bc she's my friend and I love her," Kardashian wrote in her post, "but because every mom who has struggled with their kids with dyslexia or any learning difference needs to hear that it will be okay."

More recently, Kardashian shared a tribute on Instagram to her own mom, Kris Jenner.
"Happy Birthday to the queen of our world @krisjenner!" she wrote alongside a photo of herself as a toddler with her mother. "I am so beyond grateful for the love and support you show each of your kids," she continued. "It really is unmatched and am just so lucky I get to experience true unconditional love like this. I love you so much and celebrating you today and every day!"
The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star shares kids North, 11, Saint, 8, Chicago, 6, and Psalm, 5, with her ex-husband Kanye West. The pair began dating in 2012, married in 2014 and were together for nearly 10 years before Kardashian filed for divorce in February 2021.
The divorce was finalized in November 2022. The stars agreed to joint physical and legal custody of their four children, though a source told PEOPLE at the time that "Kim is the primary caregiver."

In a June 2023 episode of The Kardashians, the SKIMS founder admitted that she does not want more kids. "I think I'm done," she said, adding that parenting four children is "a lot."
In October, a source close to the reality star told PEOPLE that Kardashian is "pretty much a single mom," as West, 47, is often "not around."
"Although she has help, it's still a lot of work for her to balance and coordinate everything," the insider added.
