The Kansas City Chiefs could be getting a massive offensive weapon back on Christmas Day.
Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown has spent the entire season to date on injured reserve after dislocating his sternoclavicular joint (where the collarbone meets the sternum) in a preseason game.
And while it was previously expected that Brown would miss at least the entire regular season following surgery on the issue, CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones reported over the weekend that the receiver could be back as early as December 25.
The Chiefs – currently 10-1 – will face the Steelers on the road in that Week 17 clash.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter had reported back in September that Brown wasn’t expected back on the field before mid-January, which would have seen him debut in the playoffs.

However, the 27-year-old now appears to be edging closer to a return for the two-time defending champion Chiefs.
Kansas City is also expected to get a boost from the return of running back Isiah Pacheco, who hasn’t played since Week 2 with a fractured fibula.
Jones reported that Pacheco should return from the injury this week against the Raiders, in the NFL’s first-ever Black Friday game.
Even if Brown does return this season, he could find targets hard to come by following the team’s trade for DeAndre Hopkins.
Travis Kelce is also going strong in his 12th season while rookie Xavier Worthy is second on the team in receiving yards and averaging just under five targets per game.
