Prince William Shares Positive Update On Kate Middleton's Health Post Chemotherapy
Speaking to British broadcasters on November 6, just ahead of the Earthshot Prize awards in Cape Town, South Africa, Prince William shared an update on Kate's health, noting that the princess is "doing really well" as she continues her cancer journey.
"Hopefully, she's watching tonight and cheering me on," per People Magazine.
Reflecting on Kate's resilience since she concluded her chemotherapy in September, William said, "She's been amazing this whole year. I know she will be really keen to see tonight be a success."
The prince's update on Kate's health comes a day after royal expert Robert Jobson shared that the Princess of Wales has returned to her fitness routine.
He told Hello! Magazine: "From what I understand, Catherine is doing very well. She is back training at the gym and doing all the things she wanted to do."
Royal Expert Says Kate Middleton 'Will Come Back In Stages And Do Things That Are Important To Her'
Jobson, who authored "Catherine, the Princess of Wales" earlier this year, believes Kate will soon be back at public events.
"Rather than travel all over the country all the time, like she used to, I think she will concentrate on more impactful events," he explained, adding, "If she has her way, she will come back in stages and do things that are important to her."
After her battle with cancer, Jobson also noted that Kate now holds "a different perspective" on her royal responsibilities.
"Her focus will be on family while still managing to do the key events," he said.
The royal expert added, "I think William is very keen that she does stage a comeback, but I don't think that necessarily signals that we're going to get a big tranche of engagements, one after the other."
Kate Middleton Reflects On Her Cancer Recovery Journey
Kate first revealed she was undergoing treatment for a type of cancer in March, prompting her to step back from public duties.
By September, she shared the uplifting news that she was cancer-free, though she acknowledged her "path to healing and full recovery is long."
The mom of three maintained a low profile throughout her treatment, making only a few public appearances.
She joined the royal family for the Trooping the Colour ceremony in June and attended the Wimbledon men's final in July with her daughter, Princess Charlotte.
In late August, Kate was also seen heading to a Sunday service at Crathie Kirk church near Balmoral Estate.
On September 9, she announced she had overcome cancer, expressing her gratitude to those who supported her through it.
"The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family," she shared on X. "Life as you know it can change in an instant, and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown."
Princess Kate Shows Support For Cancer Survivor And Grieving Community In Heartfelt Appearances
On October 2, Kate unexpectedly visited Windsor Castle to meet with a young photographer navigating their own cancer journey after the teen captured an investiture ceremony led by William.
Days later, on October 10, she accompanied William to Southport to show solidarity with a community mourning the tragic July 29 attack that left three young girls dead and ten others injured during a Taylor Swift-themed yoga and dance class.
According to Merseyside Chief Fire Officer Phil Garrigan, Kate made a compassionate gesture by going inside to embrace the first responders.
"She could see the emotion in them and could see it was difficult for them to relay their feelings and to say how impactful events have been," Garrigan told The Sun. "I think that just shows a really caring side and is very touching for them."
For future events, Kate is expected to join the royal family at the Remembrance service at the Cenotaph in London on November 10. She will also host her annual Christmas carol service in December.
The Princess No Longer Plays 'Peacemaker' Between Harry And William
Kate reportedly once tried to help reconcile William and Harry. However, after her cancer battle, her focus seems to have shifted.
During a chat with Fox News Digital, Christopher Andersen, author of "The King," shared that the Princess of Wales is no longer concerned with the Sussexes, noting that her primary attention is on securing the monarchy's future alongside William and Charles.
"The idea that Kate somehow still has the time and energy to continue playing peacemaker is rubbish," Andersen explained. "She did try over a period of years and finally threw up her hands in disgust. She did her bit, but it wasn't enough to build a bridge between William and Charles on the one side and Harry on the other."
