Juventus defensive stalwart Gleison Bremer has delivered a promising update on his nasty knee injury. During his latest interview via TMW, the ex-Torino center-back admitted the recovery process is progressing smoothly.
Bremer tore his ACL in October’s UEFA Champions League clash against RB Leipzig. Though Juventus would go on to win in Germany, they paid a hefty price, losing their defensive cornerstone for a considerable period of time. In fact, there’s a good chance the Brazilian could miss the remainder of the season.
With Bremer unlikely to return to action anytime soon, Juventus are in the market for a new center-half. In addition to Paris Saint-Germain outcast Milan Skriniar, club sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has added Benfica prodigy Antonio Silva to his shortlist.
Meanwhile, the injured Juventus star opens up on his current condition.
“I‘m doing well now,” Bremer said. “The worst is over, and I’m slowly recovering.“
Bremer also admitted Juventus legend Giorgio Chiellini has helped him cope with the present situation.
“I‘ve spoken a lot with Chiellini in the past. We would have made a great pair. I’ll ask him about the injury he also had and try to understand what he did to return to his level.“
Juventus will undoubtedly sign a new defender in the January transfer window. Bremer has been a vital presence in the team’s defensive line, contributing significantly to their stability at the back. As such, Giuntoli has no choice but to open his checkbook this winter to replace Motta’s most reliable defender.
