The Los Angeles Lakers made the most of a rough game on Friday night, barely losing to the Denver Nuggets when they were without some of their biggest stars.

A loss is never ideal but Lakers head coach JJ Redick told Spectrum SportsNet that he was very “proud” of his team for their “level of fight and resiliency.”

Friday night was an example of the team battling hard despite the odds and never losing faith.

It was also a big chance for several lesser-known players to get more minutes and prove their worth.

It was Austin Reaves who did the most for the Lakers during Friday’s game with his 37 points, eight rebounds, and 13 assists.

But he wasn’t alone.

Dalton Knecht had a monster night with 32 points, while others like Shake Milton and Jordan Goodwin also showed up to play.

Across the board, all of the Lakers tried their hardest, even when nearly everyone had counted them out.

Most fans expect the Nuggets to easily secure a win but the Lakers didn’t get that memo.

They knew they were underdogs but they played hard from the very first second to the final buzzer.

Redick admitted that there were a few things his team could have done better, such as their start to the third quarter.

But he was really happy with how they performed and fought.

Even though it was a loss, Friday’s game should give the team more confidence as they move forward into the last stretch of the season.

They should believe that even if they don’t have their biggest players, they can compete and no team can be guaranteed a win.
