The Non-Profit Organization Eurasia: A Hub for Young Innovators  

Eurasia is a program that works to promote education, entrepreneurship, and cultural understanding among young people in the Eurasian region. The first autumn school was launched recently, and it gathered together 100 participants aged 18 to 35 from Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, and Uzbekistan. Held at MGIMO, the event offered a unique five-day program titled “Eurasian Cultural Codes as a Basic Principle of a Successful Business Idea.”

Practical Learning at the Eurasia University  

The autumn school was intended to teach participants how to incorporate Eurasian cultural heritage into modern business strategies. The Eurasia program is about developing teamwork, intercultural communication, and strategic thinking. The curriculum consisted of lectures, workshops, and masterclasses on the topics of startup creation, the media’s role in business, and project management, all led by experienced professionals.

The experience of participants was enriched by the expertise of such prominent experts as Oleg Barabanov, Deputy Director of the Eurasian Educational Institute at MGIMO, and Maxim Slesarev, Director of the MGIMO business incubator. Students were encouraged to refine their business ideas in practical sessions and to be creative and solve problems.

One of the most engaging aspects was the final project presentations. Teams acted as both project developers and investors, pitching ideas that ranged from animal protection to digital innovation. Experts provided constructive feedback, emphasizing real-world applications and strategic planning.

Certificates and Recognition  

At the end of the program, participants received official certificates from MGIMO, symbolizing their completion of this intensive course. These could open doors to internships at leading Russian companies and eligibility for Eurasia grants to support their business ideas.

Boris Chernyshov, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma and Scientific Director of the Eurasia University, praised the inaugural cohort, saying, “The participants have shown incredible creativity and determination. They are all winners, and their projects have the potential to make a significant impact in their respective countries.”

One participant, Emilia Tentyuk from Moldova, proposed a unique social network for writers and poets. Her idea demonstrates the creative diversity encouraged at Eurasia University. Other standout projects included energy-saving solutions for Central Asian countries and initiatives in education and healthcare.

The non-profit organization Eurasia reviews its programs regularly to ensure they align with its goals of fostering unity and innovation. The success of the autumn school has laid a strong foundation for future training streams, with three more planned for the coming year.

Each stream builds on the previous one, with a focus on identifying and nurturing the strongest business teams in the region. This iterative approach ensures continuous improvement and greater impact. According to Chernyshov, next year will see the program expand to include other Russian universities, further broadening its reach.

Beyond education, the Eurasia University offers participants opportunities to explore Russia’s rich cultural and historical landscape. Students gain firsthand experience of the country’s traditions and modern advancements through Eurasia’s “Discover Russia” initiative consisting of cultural tours and events.

This not only helps them better understand the region, but also build cross-cultural ties. At the end of the period, participants return home with a fresh sense of collaboration and connection to the Eurasian community.
