Inter receive positive Injury updates on Barella and Dimarco

Inter Milan have received encouraging news regarding the fitness of key players Nicolò Barella and Federico Dimarco following their impressive 6-0 victory over Lazio in Serie A. As the team prepares for their Coppa Italia round of 16 match against Udinese on Thursday, December 19th, the medical updates bring relief to manager Simone Inzaghi.

Both Barella and Dimarco were instrumental in Inter’s dominant performance at the Stadio Olimpico, with each player finding the back of the net. However, concerns arose when both requested substitutions in the second half due to thigh muscle issues. Barella was replaced by Zielinski in the 74th minute, while Dimarco made way for Buchanan in the 81st minute.

For Dimarco, the situation appears to be less serious than initially feared. Reports suggest that the discomfort he experienced during a defensive stretch was merely cramping. This assessment was confirmed when the Italian full-back participated in normal recovery training with his teammates who played against Lazio.

Barella’s case, while slightly more cautious, is also optimistic. The Italian midfielder was feeling better at the training ground, and as a result, did not undergo any detailed medical examinations. While there is still some fatigue present, the decision not to conduct scans indicates that the medical staff is not overly concerned about a serious injury.

As a precautionary measure, Inzaghi is expected to rest Barella for the upcoming Coppa Italia fixture. This decision allows the midfielder additional time to recover fully and avoid any unnecessary risks.
