The Toronto Raptors probably aren’t going very far this season, and they are attempting to lay the foundation for future seasons.
With a 6-15 record, the Raptors are willing to discuss trades for several of their players.
According to Evan Sidery, the Raptors are going to “dangle” Bruce Brown’s $23 million expiring contract in this season’s trade discussions.
Sidery reports that the asking price for Brown will only be a second-round draft pick, which could be very affordable for many front offices.
As noted by Sidery, “Once healthy, Brown could be a key bench piece for a contender.”
The Raptors will dangle Bruce Brown’s $23 million expiring contract in trade discussions.
The price is expected to only be second-round draft capital as Brown continues to rehab from knee surgery in September.

We haven’t seen Brown play at all this season because of the knee injury that he is recovering from.
Last season, he averaged 9.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.7 assists for the Raptors through 34 games.
Before that, he was briefly with the Indiana Pacers and previously won a championship with the Denver Nuggets.
Following his title run with the Nuggets, many people thought Brown would be a hot commodity throughout the league.
Instead, he hasn’t been able to break out with a team, partly because of injuries that have slowed him down.
A second-round draft pick isn’t too immense, and the upside of signing Brown could be huge.
Therefore, fans should expect to hear a lot more about him moving to another team, especially if he continues to heal and get into better shape.
Brown was a fun and active part of the Nuggets’ championship roster a few years ago, and teams would love to see him play like he did back then.
They’d be willing to ship away second-round capital to see what he’s capable of.
