Insider Names 3 Teams That Could Have Interest In Jimmy Butler

The Miami Heat and Jimmy Butler are heading for a divorce.

The two sides have now taken to the media to control the narrative.

The Heat and president Pat Riley previously denied rumors that they were considering trading Butler.

However, after the latter publicly said he couldn’t find his joy on the court in Miami, the team decided to honor his wishes and seek out a trade.

The situation escalated this past summer when the two sides couldn’t get a contract extension done, and now Butler should be on the move shortly.

While the star wing is past his prime, he would uplift any team he gets sent to, given his knack for performing in the postseason.

There should be several teams looking to add Butler.

However, three teams seem to have begun to separate themselves as legitimate suitors via Sam Amico of Hoops Wire.

The San Antonio Spurs and Denver Nuggets appear to be more logical destinations for Butler, though there’s no telling what direction the New Orleans Pelicans want to go in.

The Spurs’ young players and draft capital should interest the Heat, while the Nuggets could use Michael Porter Jr. as the centerpiece of the deal.

The Pelicans could also build a trade proposal around Brandon Ingram, though they seem more likely to rebuild than go all-in on someone like Butler.
