Hugh Jackman is allegedly planning to go public with his relationship with Sutton Foster but intends to do so in a subtle manner.
The pair have reportedly been dating since their time together on "The Music Man" in 2022. It's said that their colleagues were well aware of the relationship but chose to keep it under wraps.
Reports have also claimed that Hugh Jackman's ex-wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, was "blindsided" by the duo's relationship, which is rumored to have led to the end of her marriage to the Marvel star.
The Duo Want To Test Public Reaction To Their Alleged Affair
For weeks, rumors have swirled about Hugh Jackman's alleged relationship with his "The Music Man" co-star, Sutton Foster.
Though neither has confirmed nor denied the romance, reports suggest that could change soon, as the pair may be planning a "soft launch" of their relationship, per the Daily Mail.
This claim was made by gossip blogger Tasha Lustig, who shared a video last month connecting Jackman and Foster's rumored romance to the end of the X-Men star's marriage to his ex-wife, Deborra-Lee Furness.
According to Lustig, Jackman and Foster want to test the public's reaction by opting for a gradual reveal. However, she believes the duo must "dream up the Disney story of the ages" to convince everyone.
Interestingly, Furness reportedly liked Lustig's post from a private Instagram account, seemingly lending credibility to rumors that Foster may have played a role in the breakdown of her marriage to Jackman.
Hugh Jackman 'Blindsided' Deborah-Lee Furness With His Alleged Infidelity
Previously, a source told US Weekly that she didn't suspect her husband's infidelity until much later through the run of the 20022 Broadway revival.
"Deborra-lee was blindsided when she found out about the affair through the run of the show," said an insider. "It was apparently Broadway's worst-kept secret, and Deborra-lee was the last to know."
As for why no one informed Furness sooner, a source claimed that they did so because they respected Jackman and Foster's "privacy" and saw the pair as "nice and great people."
When Furness eventually found out and confronted Jackman about the alleged infidelity, he reportedly "didn't own up to it" as she had expected. Despite this, Furness attempted to save their marriage, but her efforts were ultimately overshadowed by Jackman's decision to continue his relationship with Foster.
In September 2023, the former couple publicly announced their decision to end their marriage, releasing a statement that they were separating to focus on personal growth. Since then, they have avoided discussing the details behind their split.
Deborah-Lee Furness Was Left 'Devastated' By Hugh Jackman's Infidelity
A friend of Furness also weighed in on how the actress felt about her husband's infidelity.
"For a woman who's been in a marriage for 27 years who then discovers her partner was unfaithful and isn't trustworthy, it's a pretty devastating life experience," the source told the publication.
They added, "I think many people were shocked he could do this to her, especially as she's the mother of his children, and they've navigated three decades of life together. A little respect may have been in order."
During the course of their marriage, Jackman and Furness adopted two children, Oscar and Ava. The duo are now legal adults, sparing the former couple from having to deal with custody issues.
Hugh Jackman And Sutton Foster Are Still Going Strong
With Foster recently filing for divorce from her husband, Ted Griffin, it seems that Jackman and Foster now have the freedom to pursue their romance openly.
Last month, an insider revealed that their connection had grown stronger, and they could likely tie the knot in the future.
"They are 100 percent together and are in love and want to spend the rest of their lives together," the source told Page Six.
According to the source, the duo has yet to go public with their alleged romance, choosing instead to keep it low-key as per their personal preference.
The insider shared further, "They are still together. They go out of their way to hide it, but it's
common knowledge. "
The Broadway Actress Filed For Divorce From Her Husband
Rumors of Foster's romantic relationship with Jackman intensified after she filed for divorce from her husband Griffin in a New York County Supreme Court.
According to the filing, the divorce was uncontested, meaning that Foster and Griffin aren't divided over any issues, such as child support, property sharing, and alimony.
The pair married in October 2014 in a private ceremony in California and share a daughter, Emily, whom they adopted in 2017.
Neither Foster nor Griffin has revealed the reason why they parted ways.
