Now, the Championship is going to take over, with it being an incredibly rare occasion for a second-tier game to be broadcast on terrestrial TV. It was recently confirmed that Leeds vs Sheffield Wednesday would be the first match shown, before Middlesbrough vs Sunderland is also on ITV on Monday, February 3. A total of five Championship fixtures are scheduled to be broadcast for free in the second half of this season. As well as that, the second leg of Liverpool’s Carabao Cup semi-final against Tottenham is also going to be on ITV on February 6. It will be a very rare occasion as the Yorkshire derby takes place at Elland Road, with the game being shown live on ITV1 and ITVX.
