Tesla CEO Elon Musk has responded to Saturday Night Live’s (SNL) Chloe Fineman’s accusations of making her cry in the writer’s room.

Taking to X (fka Twitter) on Thursday, the 53-year-old controversial businessman defended himself from the comedienne’s recent TikTok, where Finneman revealed that Musk was the one who verbally accosted her and other SNL writers, including Bowen Yang, in the week leading up to Musk’s May 2021 appearance.

The “no laughing” matter between Musk and Fineman was initially teased by fellow SNL alum Yang, when he appeared on an episode of Watch What Happens Live last August.

As reported by Buzzfeed, when asked by WWHL host Andy Cohen what Yang considered to be “the worst SNL host behavior” he witnessed, the Bros star answered, “This man, this person, this host made multiple cast members cry on [the] Wednesday before the table read, because he hated the ideas.”

Yang went into further detail about the Musk/Fineman incident in conversation with former SNL mainstays Dana Carvey and David Spade on their podcast, Fly on the Wall.

“Imagine you stay up until 4:00 a.m. writing a sketch, and then the host is like: ‘I f-cking hate this,’” Yang explained. “Your nerves are frayed. You're gonna have some weird, bizarre, emotional response.”

Though asked repeatedly, Yang didn’t reveal the names of the host or the writer who cried at the time.

Things kicked up between Musk, Fineman, and the entire SNL cast this past weekend. In the show’s cold open, Yang and other featured players “appealed” to Trump following his re-election as President of the United States. The episode’s host, Dana Carvey, portrayed Musk while wearing a “dark MAGA hat” similar to the one Musk wore at a recent Trump rally, while jumping around in excitement about the President-Elect.

The following day, as FOX News reports, Musk posted on Twitter that “'SNL' has been dying slowly for years, as they become increasingly out of touch with reality,” and added, “they are so mad that [Donald Trump] won.”

In a now-deleted TikTok, Fineman addressed Yang’s comments and confirmed the identity of the host who made her and other SNL writers cry was Musk.

"You made I, Chloe Fineman, burst into tears because I stayed up all night writing a sketch,” she stated. “I was so excited, I came in, I asked if you had any questions, and you stared at me like you were firing me from Tesla and were like, 'It's not funny.'"

Fineman claimed she then waited for the billionaire to tell her his reaction was a joke. To her dismay and disappointment, Musk was serious about his opinion.

"I waited for you to be like, 'Haha, JK.' No,” Fineman continued, “Then you started pawing through my script, flipping each page, being like, 'I didn't laugh once. Not one time.'”
