Reactions to the Luka Doncic trade were swift and loud, and it seemed like everyone had an opinion.
Even former NBA stars are speaking out about the trade, including Dwyane Wade.
Appearing on “The Why Podcast,” the Hall of Famer talked about the trade and said it was the choice of the billionaires running the Dallas Mavericks.
“Before all the reports came out I said, no players were involved in this decision; this is billionaires’ business. He was at the top… This was the owners, the billionaires deciding what they want to do,” Wade said, via Legion Hoops.

Wade is among a chorus of people who think something bigger was at work with this trade.
Although the reporting says it was the result of many conversations between Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison and Lakers GM Rob Pelinka, others feel that people were pulling strings behind the scenes.
Why would those people want to get rid of Doncic?
Perhaps they were unhappy with the idea of paying him a lot in an upcoming contract extension, or maybe they were upset with his physical conditioning problems.
It won’t ever be entirely clear but many people don’t understand this trade, and so they are blaming the powers that be.
Regardless, the trade is now done, and Doncic is a Laker while Anthony Davis and Max Christie have moved to Dallas.
It’s now up to head coach Jason Kidd and his team to do everything they can to make the most of this and try to return to the Finals.
The NBA is definitely a business, and that means very rich people get involved and try to make the smartest business decisions.
