Friday night was tough for the Phoenix Suns, as they were taken down 99-83 by the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Suns needed all of their best stars to play well and, sadly, Devin Booker wasn’t his usual self.

In fact, he didn’t score a single point in the first half of the game.

Following the defeat, he spoke with Duane Rankin, via Legion Hoops, about why he didn’t get a bucket in the first 24 minutes.

Booker said:

“They were trapping me, If we make some shots early… I’m not in the business of trying to go score over double and triple teams.”

When the final buzzer sounded, Booker walked off the court with a score of 12 points, four rebounds, and four assists.

Booker is averaging 22.5 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 6.6 assists per game this season so Friday’s game obviously wasn’t his best.

Despite the loss, the Suns are in a good position and hold a 9-4 record.

But they have lost three of their last four games and are facing a few problems because they are without the injured Kevin Durant.

Booker has been trying his best to carry the team during Durant’s absence but some nights are harder than others.

The next few games will be difficult for the Suns, as they take on the Minnesota Timberwolves, Orlando Magic, New York Knicks, and Los Angeles Lakers.

Booker will try his hardest to avoid another scoreless half and will attempt to keep his team on track even without Durant.
