Dennis Schroder Has Made A Decision About His Jersey Number With Warriors

The Golden State Warriors just acquired a prime reinforcement.

Dennis Schroder will give them a much-needed scoring and playmaking punch next to Stephen Curry.

The veteran point guard will play for yet another team, and he’s made a rather interesting choice for his new jersey number.

As pointed out by Etienne Catalan on X, Schroder will wear No. 71 for the Warriors.

The number has been vacant since McCoy McLemore last wore it in 1965.

Recently, Steve Kerr hinted at the importance of having a player like Schroder on the team.

He believes he will be crucial when Stephen Curry heads to the bench, but he could even start alongside him.

Curry has been pretty banged up.

He’s dealt with a knee injury that has limited his explosiveness all season long.

Of course, Schroder isn’t Curry, but having him on the team gives the team another scorer and playmaker.

This allows Steph to either rest now and then or not have to deal with such a heavy burden every single game.

Others report that Schroder’s tenure in the Bay area might be shortlived.

The Warriors are reportedly still actively pursuing another star to complement No. 30.

They wouldn’t hesitate to include Schroder’s contract in the deal to make the numbers work.

For now, however, he will most likely take shots and minutes away from Brandin Podziemski, who has failed to live up to the hype after making the All-Rookie team last season.
