DDG has expressed that he would like to have another baby with Halle Bailey, even after their recent breakup.
The couple first went public with their relationship in 2022, and by December 2023, they welcomed their son, Halo, into the world. However, despite the joy of their growing family, Halle and DDG decided to part ways in October, announcing their split to the public.
Despite their breakup, DDG has made it clear that he still envisions a future with Halle Bailey.
DDG Is Open To Expanding His Family With Halle Bailey
While speaking to his YouTube subscribers on Monday, November 11, DDG addressed the possibility of giving his 10-month-old son, Halo, a sibling. The rapper made it clear that although he is open to the idea of expanding his family with Bailey, he does not plan to have "baby mamas or whatever y'all like to call it."
He explained, “If I was to have another kid, it definitely would be with the same person. I don’t want to have kids with multiple people. I feel like that’s just too much.”
DDG Wants Halo To Have A Sibling
According to Page Six, the 27-year-old said that he doesn’t “want to have another kid too far away” and will be “cool with just having Halo” if he does not “have another kid within the next four years.”
“I don’t want Halo to be 10 and his little brother is 1, you feel me? I feel like that defeats the entire purpose of having another kid," he said. "I’m perfectly fine with Halo. I can live the rest of my life with just Halo as my son. I don’t need to have another kid, but I wouldn’t mind having like a daughter or something. I think that would just be dope.”
Halle Bailey And DDG Continue To Co-Parent
DDG became a father in December 2023 when Bailey gave birth to their son, Halo. However, the couple had decided to part ways by October of the following year. Despite their breakup, they are focused on co-parenting their son and maintaining a positive and supportive relationship for Halo’s well-being.
“After much reflection and heartfelt conversations, Halle and I have decided to go our separate ways,” the YouTuber wrote in an Instagram statement last month. “This decision was not easy, but we believe it’s the best path forward for us both. I cherish the time we’ve spent together and the love we’ve shared.”
He concluded, “Despite the changes in our relationship, our love for each other remains deep and true. We are still best friends and adore each other. As we focus on our individual journeys and our roles as co-parents, we cherish the bond we’ve built and the beautiful moments we’ve shared.”
Halle Bailey Details 'Severe' Struggles After Giving Birth To Her Son
After giving birth to her son, Halo, Bailey opened up about her struggles with "severe postpartum depression" and body image issues.
"I just wanted to speak a little bit about my postpartum journey as a new mom," Bailey said in a video, as reported by The Blast. "I have severe, severe postpartum [depression], and I don't know if any new moms can relate, but it's to the point where it's really bad, and it's hard for me to be separated from my baby for more than 30 minutes at a time before I start to kind of freak out."
Halle Bailey Is Struggling With Body Image
Bailey also revealed that, in addition to battling severe postpartum depression, she has been grappling with body image struggles ever since giving birth to her son, Halo.
"Before I had a child and I would hear people talk about postpartum, it would kind of just go in one ear and out the other... I didn't realize how serious of a thing it actually was," she admitted. "Now going through it, it feels like you're swimming in this ocean that's like the biggest waves you've ever felt, and you're trying not to drown."
"Halo is a miracle. He is perfect. He is beautiful. When I look at him, I cry because of how special he is. The only thing that's been hard for me is feeling normal in my own body," Bailey added. "I feel like a completely different person when I look in the mirror. I just feel like I'm in a whole new body, and I don't know who I am."
