Washington Commanders offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury has emerged as a surprise contender to be the next head coach of the Chicago Bears.
Kingsbury’s return to the NFL has gone swimmingly, as the Commanders’ offense with Jayden Daniels at quarterback has gone from dormant for several years to one of the NFL’s best.
Last year, Kingsbury was on the staff at USC and worked directly with Bears’ starting quarterback Caleb Williams. A possible reunion could be in the works after the season ends, per NFL Network.
The Bears are 4-8 after a promising start to the season including a five-game losing streak.
Expectations for Chicago were incredibly high this season with Williams entering the fold and being viewed as one of the best quarterback prospects of his generation.
Now, he’ll be asked to learn a second NFL offense in as many years.
