Celtic have picked up eight points from their five games and currently sit in 20th place ahead of holders Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and RB Leipzig.

As it stands, Brendan Rodgers’ side are set to qualify for February’s play-off round ahead of their final three games against Dinamo Zagreb, Young Boys and Aston Villa.

Celtic’s encouraging European football coupled with their two-point lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership has created an air of overexcitement for one fan who believes his side will blow away Europe’s big boys and claim a second European Cup.

Celtic fan Steve, called Jamie O’Hara and Jason Cundy on The Sports Bar on Wednesday night to discuss Celtic’s standing as a European force before reeling off a list of teams Rodgers’ men will stomp all over in pursuit of glory.

And it would lead to O’Hara dubbing him ‘the best Sports Bar caller ever’ on social media.

Speaking about Liverpool’s win over Real Madrid, Steve played down the current Anfield crop before comparing them to Celtic.

“I don’t think they’re as great as your Dalglish’s, Souness’s and Hansens’ but they are up there. It has been a great advert for British football Liverpool, Aston Villa and Celtic (in the Champions League).

“I’ll put my house on it that Celtic would go down there and wipe the floor with Liverpool.”

That sparked the first set of laughter from the studio and O’Hara and Cundy tried to reason with the caller.

Steve responded: “You fear having Rangers and Celtic in your league because you know we’d come down there and Rangers and Celtic would wipe the floor with you.”

“Scottish football is up there. We had Big Ange up here who took Celtic to the top before Spurs poached him off us.”

Steven then appeared to take a more serious angle on his argument claiming Rodgers’ heroics could mean future heartbreak for Celtic fans.

“The danger Celtic fans have got is, where is Brendan Rodgers going to go to?” he said.

“And even at Liverpool it was only Gerrard who beat him for the title.”

But normal service was resumed and Steve piled in on the broadcast duo claiming Celtic would beat the top teams in England and Europe.

“Celtic are up there with the best of you,” he added to which Cundy replied, “Celtic, good team in Glasgow. Name the teams you can compare yourselves with.”

Cue the hysterics in the studio as Steve lined up a host of European giants to his Celtic hitlist.
