Jimmy Butler returned to the Miami Heat on Friday night after concluding his seven-game suspension.

He earned 18 points, three rebounds, and two assists and seemed to be comfortable back in rotation with the rest of the team.

But Heat fans shouldn’t get too excited about Butler on the court again because Brian Windhorst made it clear that he still wants to leave the team.

“This is what Heat fans need to know and certainly the Heat know… His number one goal is to be traded. His actions will be aimed at getting himself traded preferably to the Phoenix Suns, Period,” Windhorst said, per Heat Culture on X.

Butler will still compete and attempt to help the Heat win, but his one and only goal right now is leaving the team.

He has his preference in mind, the Phoenix Suns, but trade talks haven’t resulted in Butler making the move he wants.

He hasn’t stopped trying, and he won’t.

In fact, reports have said that Butler will do whatever it takes to convince the Heat to ship him to another team.

This could be a very awkward few months for both sides of the drama.

Butler could make life complicated for the front office and may make public comments or do things that lead to more suspensions for him.

Meanwhile, the Heat will have to try and work with Butler even though he doesn’t want to be there.

Of course, they could also choose to trade Butler before the deadline in a few weeks.

They are working together for now, but Butler and the Heat still don’t see eye-to-eye.
