Bizarre 3D Usain Bolt simulation shows wild race with cheetah, dog… and cat
Usain Bolt is the fastest man alive, but when it comes to racing our four-legged friends, it’s a different story. The Jamaican sprinter famously holds the world record for the men’s 100m event having completed the race in 9.58 seconds back in 2009. It was a tough day at the office for Bolt as he raced a greyhound and a cheetahYT: MotionAthlete But in a new simulation, Bolt was left humbled after being thrashed over his specialist distance. In a bizarre video shared by YouTube account MotionAthlete, the Olympic GOAT pit his wits against a series of animals, but not after some peculiar qualifying rounds. First up was a race between two dogs and a cat – I know, right? An average Shih Tzu, a fast Shih Tzu and a Persian Cat took their places on the start with the feline claiming victory in 11.47 seconds in a race among the slowest animals. Next up was the ‘Most Popular’ pets category in which a Golden Labrador Retriever faced a Ragdoll cat. While the cat stormed into the lead, it was our doggy pal who hit his stride to come out on top in 8.3 seconds. This was when things got interesting, with Bolt added to the mix alongside the Labrador Retriever and the Ragdoll cat. While the Ragdoll cat can reach 32mph over 20m, the Retriever can reach 34 mph – a speed that made Bolt look pretty slow. But if defeat in that race was humbling, what came next was nearly humiliating. Against the fastest cats and dogs, Bolt found himself going up against a greyhound and a cheetah. The omens weren’t good for Bolt when he was beaten by a Labrador Retriever and a Ragdoll catYT: MotionAthlete It didn’t take long for Bolt to be left in the cheetah’s dust in the day’s main eventYT: MotionAthlete To no one’s surprise, Bolt finished third out of the three competitors with the cheetah finishing the race in 4.74 seconds. The Jamaican’s top speed is a rather impressive 27.8mph, but that paled into mediocrity compared to the greyhound and cheetah. The greyhound can reach 47.8mph, while the cheetah can reach an astonishing 74.6mph. As a result, Bolt was made to look like he was running in treacle in his event of choice. It wasn’t the first time that the sprinter has been humiliated on the track, after he was heavily beaten in a fictional race with an ostrich. While Bolt did beat Cristiano Ronaldo in the same race, his recent exploits of racing fast land animals will have been a very humbling experience.
