Paris Saint-Germain are facing uncertainty about their goalkeeping situation, particularly with Gianluigi Donnarumma’s future up in the air. If the club chooses to part ways with the 25-year-old, they’ll need to explore the transfer market for a replacement.
Despite being under contract until 2026, Donnarumma’s performances have been inconsistent, with costly errors raising concerns over the years. It seems PSG might be losing patience and could be evaluating alternatives for the long term.
A January move for a goalkeeper appears unlikely, but the summer transfer window could see the club targeting a reliable option to strengthen the position.
According to a recent report from PSG Inside Actus, the Parisians are monitoring five potential candidates, including Brighton & Hove Albion’s standout, Bart Verbruggen.
PSG face competition in pursuit of Bart Verbruggen
Sky Sports’ Florian Plettenberg reports that Bayern Munich are interested in signing Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen as a potential successor to Manuel Neuer. Neuer’s contract with the Bavarian club runs until the end of the 2024-25 season, but negotiations for a new deal have yet to occur.
In October, we reported on it in our Transfer Update show and now it’s confirmed: Bart #Verbruggen from @OfficialBHAFC is a goalkeeper FC Bayern are monitoring closely in case the plan with Manuel Neuer and Alexander Nübel does not work out.@SkySportDE
